Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is the author of fifteen books. She is also the co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of 16 and completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online voice platform which offered critiques of politics. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news political, culture and politics. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. In addition, she also spearheaded an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient automobiles. She was named The Most Popular Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. In the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the President of the media division at AOL. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. Her character was formed through her relationship with her mother, and the bond she shared with her father, despite being extremely close to him. In her earliest times, she demonstrated leadership skills for which are still prominently known. In her 16th year, she travelled to England to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the first woman to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. After her graduation, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
